Hi, I have a SPS-2000 I just programming ready for use, it's connected to an existing slimline 24v cash drawer via an Epson T88IV printer rather than directly to the DK port on the SPS-2000, as I'm told these are 12v?
Printer is on Com1, and defined as a T88 for Reg1 and port1 for System Printer, Receipt Printer and Detail Printer. All works well, except that I get two copies of every receipt, report etc, one with the pre/postamble and one without.
I've figured that if I remove the Detail Printer then I no longer get the unwanted stub receipt, can print a receipt as required with the receipt button which prints correctly with the pre/postamble, but no longer get the cash drawer opening.

Any help or suggestions gratefully received!

There seem to be so many printer and cash drawer settings between the S and PGM menus that I've got myself totally confused!

Andy - Does it vary between units, as mine has 12v next to the DK port ? Or is it a system option to configure?

I've tried my 24v solenoid drawer on the built in port and I can hear the solenoid click but the drawer doesn't open. Maybe look at the drawer pulse timing settings?

unless im confusing it with another terminal, i thought that there was a small jumper located next to the port?
[apologies if im wrong - i hate these machines with a passion and refuse to sell them! - hence not having one to play with]

failing that, i do not understand how removing the journal printer would stop the drawer pulse from the port on the tmt88 - are you sure it was the journal printer that you removed, not the system printer?

Thanks I'll check for a jumper after work tonight. I'm starting to hate them with a passion too !

Is there any similar style of small self contained terminal you would recommend? What about the Casio 6100/6600 range?
