Hi, We have an old SAM4S ER5100 Till, which I'm happy with programming etc (have the old DOS software and a serial cable) Just want to split it from the cash box and interface to a modern reduced depth cash drawer mounted under our new counter. Anybody know if the solenoid in the standard drawer is 12v or 24v. Also any help with pinouts to convert the solenoid and drawer open sense wires to RJ11 pinout?

Anybody ever done this? Hoping to get something newer and go POS soon, but at the moment cash is short!

Thanks
Dave B

its a 24v solenoid. once the base is seperated, measure the coil resistance of the original solenoid and compare it to the replacement [why not install the original solenoid into the new drawer?
i recall the wires are in 2 sets
purple and brown. one set has an additional green earth wire [its a 3 pin molex connecter] thats the solenoid
the other is the drawer switch.

think u goin ott tbh because the cashbase on the 5100 is the regular sized base used just about everywhere?????

Cheers - just the info I needed. Want to split the drawer off and mount under counter for appearance(and extra security), but the front of my counters not deep enough underneath for a regular size drawer, hence looking for a reduced depth one.
