Our shop was broken into over the weekend and the till stolen (it was empty)! I am know trying to program an Er420m for very basic operation, on the old till we had three buttons programmed, you entered the cost of an item and then pressed either one button if it was 20% vat or another button it was 0% vat, continued until all items entered then sub total etc as normal. The end of day reports would then show vat and none vat sales. We had a third button programmed, when pressed after sub total it would discount whole sale by 15%.
Is it possible to programme the Er420m in the same way, if so how? Thanks for any help.
yes it is - perfectly simple.
1. set machine for either add vat @ point of sale or vat extract.
2. set vat rate on %1 to 20
3. set status on relevant buttons [you have 12 to choose from on a 420] to set tax rate 1
4. add a %2 button in service mode [don't think that there are 2 percentage buttons set as standard]
5. set up %2 button status to be minus 15 at sale & label it "discount"
job done
all of this is in the manual.
