Hi all. Please be patient as im quite new to all this!
Just bought a used er-5215 last week.Scanned a load of stuff in my store on the first day,but soon found out that it cant hold any more than 1000 items. After a rummage on the net,it looks like i can buy a couple of chips which would take me up to about 10,000 items.
Is this fairly straight-forward to do,or should i leave it to a pro?...Im not too concerned about having to scan everything again.
Installing the chips underneath the keyboard with the dimples corresponding to the pcb diagram looks easy enough;its the programming setup afterwards which i'd love to know more about.

Many thanks in advance from sunny Glasgow!

im not sure what the upper limit is on a 5215 but I reckon 10K is well optimistic!
you will have to reallocate the memory map on an experimental basis to find a setting that gives you the correct ratio of products /clerks/ items per sale/etc.
I would be guessing that 8K is more realistic
