sam 4s 5200m
new to registers have a 5200m but it appears to me u have to be connected to the register in order to program it
i was wanting to program it on my laptop at home unless im stupid the program doesnt do amything until i coonect the serial to the register
technically, you are correct but first off, its always best practice to upload the current program from the register so there are no errors waiting to happen [memory may not be allocated for 2nd level prices on plus etc.] - it also confirms that the settings and cables from the pc to the till work before you spend hours programming on the laptop then having to do it all over again on the till itself.
thanks i am quite quick at programming from registering except i can never work the finer points like printer to kp or not printing in red
the manual is not owner user friendly obviosly written for er techs
I'm with Simon on this one - over confidence is deadly [and often very humbling in this game]
before starting ANY pc reprogramming, it doesn't hurt to do an upload of your current program.
I tend to do two - that's 1 as a "get out of jail free" copy and the other as a starting point to edit .
