i have been trying to program our till and the manuals is not much help
i have scan all my products in that have barcodes thats not a problem
can anyone explain to me in simple terms how i program a code for a product with out a bar code i have a large number of these products ie mens footwear, womens footwear, kids footwear, bags and purses.
one way would be to have keys on the till for each dept which when pressed just asks for price
or individual 4 digits code which type in and price and description appear which would be better
really appreicate any help

Hi.
PLUs are what you want. These are the products by code.
Turn key to P mode.
200 SUBTOTAL
1 PLU
Type the item price (no decimal point)
X/TIME
CASH
300 SUBTOTAL
1 PLU
Type a name for the item using the character codes.
X/TIME
CASH
Now turn key back to REG and press 1 PLU. This will bring up PLU1 that you have just programmed. If this is what you wanted, just program your other items using PLU numbers from 2 upwards where you see 1 used in my example.

If you want to have an open priced item, then that is a department. This is why I steered you to PLUs, as they are for priced items. You just set the buttons on the keyboard for open priced departments, and use your PLU codes for priced items.
