Arghhhh....these manuals drive me mad......THANK GOD I have found this place

Hi All...newbie here. We are trying to programme stock into the above and we are having no joy. What is the procedure (in english please :) )

And....is it actually worth doing. Will the till tell us what stock we have left in the shop and what we have sold on a daily basis?

Cheers in advance

Hi. I have had a look at the programming, and it looks like this model can do it.
However, when I have set it up in the past, almost everyone gave up on positive stock systems. The problem is, you must keep entering stock into it all the time when your new stock arrives. You must designate someone to sit there entering all the new stock whenever it comes in. This is very prone to mistakes and laziness. It puts your stock count out of kilter if it is not exact. Most shops just use the amount they have sold each day on the daily report, and check it against their invoices.

The daily Z report always tells you how many you have sold without having to program anything at all. It just can't tell you what the starting stock was. You work that part out yourself, so it's a half manual system.

I hope this makes sense. If you are keen to designate a person to enter new stock whenever it arrives, and they can be trusted to get it right every time, then let me know, and we can go through the setups. Otherwise, just work it out using the end of day reports.

Hi Mark....Thanks for the quick reply :)

It would be myself and my Partner entering the data so no problems there. Would be nice to know how to do it, if just to see if it will be beneficial to us. Im very much a "need to do before I see the benefits/disadvantages" sort of person

Cheers

Ok, it will probably work fine for you.

I need to know what you have tried so far.
It looks like you will need to set:

1 PLU status for stock type PLUs, which tells the machine that these PLUs are going to have stock quantities entered into them.
2 System option 18, which lets you enter either the amount of new stock arriving, or the new total stock once you have shelved the incoming stock.
3 PLU stock amount programming, which is how you enter the stock quantities into each PLU.

Let me know what you have set so far, and we can go from there. If you are not sure about any of the above, just ask. It is complicated to set these up sometimes, but we will get there :)

Hmmm...not really sure of all the above :? :?

We have had the till for nearly a year now and had a nightmare setting it up, the manual is poop. But we managed to scan in about 3000 ish products into the till, with price and name ( I want to assign stock to all these) and all seems to work fine.

Not even sure what the PLU buttons are or how to use them...we just scan a item, the price and description comes up and we make a sale

I have tried entering stock following the procedure in said poop manual but get the dreaded and thoroughly useful "sequence error" message.

What really bugs me is that I am normally really good with "teccy" things but this till and (have I mention the poop manual) have me pulling my hair out!

Sorry if I sound a complete numpty

Cheers

Adrian
