HI,
Hope someone can help. I have just bought a second hand ser6500. I have managed to reprogramme it, however i cant seem to log on as any of the clerks.
I turn the key to REG, it asks me to 'sign on' so i type in the code and 'staff 1' but it still continiues to ask me to 'sign on'. I have tried pressing many different buttons after the code such as 'x/time, cash/tend, subtl' etc but it just doesnt want to let me use it!!

many thanks

its out of a system!
its lonely and looking for its master.
turn the key to s mode
type 10 subtotal then8 into xtime
look at the printout
you are interested only in reginum - look at the number on that line
turn key to pgm
enter 60 into subtotal
then 2 into x/time key
type the number found earlier into the subtotal key
then 3 into x/time key
type the number found earlier into the subtotal key
then 6 into x/time
type the number found earlier into the subtotal key
hit cash
go back to reg and try signing on again

you are looking for a "c" key.

if you have a reg key and a z key, look at the difference
the z key can easily be cut to a c key by filing the slot wider [towards the tip of the key not the handle cut it till the tallest part almost becomes a point.
to be honest, without a c key, the till is useless!
