Problems with multiple SPS2200

Hi,

Two of my SPS2200 touchscreens have suddenly began to play up. The first one just presses buttons on its own and when i try to go into 'S' or 'PGM' modes an incorrect button further down the screen depresses. Also none of the number buttons or any button at the bottom right will work at all.

The second one, none of the buttons at all will depress or work at all, it's as if the whole touchscreen has stopped working. I have another till connected to this one and it's successful when they communicate but the screen will not register any touch.

First specific question, is there a way to completely wipe the first machine so i can reinstall from by program backup, but not through the touchscreen (ie could i connect it up to a pc? or is there a pinhole somewhere which would wipe the machine?)

And also could it be that the screens theselves are goosed and if so can a screen be replaced or would it be a whole new machine? they are only 2.5 years old.

thanks in advance

touch screens sound like they are contaminated with crud along the bottom seal - the parts are available as its a current model but its a dealer fix i'm afraid.

answer to first specific question - if you have a back up on a usb drive then restore it from there - there's no real need to ram clear it first - but if the touch is shot - reloading the software wont make any difference [there's samstock if you purchased it - but that's a very expensive way to back up if you don't use any other of its features]

There is an inherent problem with a batch of sps2200 with faulty touchscreens. You can try to flash them again but the issue will come back. It is not dirt as previous message.
