PLU's not accepted by ER-420

I have Samstock 4.9 with an ER-420M. My product list is around 1600 products. I can send the PLU's up to the ER-420 but despite there being no errors in Samevent the PLU's do not seem to be captured by the register. Thus when you scan the barcode at the till it gives an error.

Is there a limit to the number of PLU's that an ER-420 can handle and have I exceeded that limit or is this something else? I have done all the usuall stuff of checking the file for corrupt or inelligable PLU's and ECR descriptions.

Thanks for any help.

there is a limit but it depends on the number of ram chips fitted and the memory allocation.
once set, you cannot change the settings without completely resetting the memory.

Thanks for the answer. In a moment of madness I cleared the RAM so had to start again which thankfully was not too painful. However the scanner connected to the second port of the 420 does not register when you scan anything. I just get a bleep and that is it! The port seems to be set to 2400baud and is set as a scanner.

Any help there please?

scanners are a b*tch to set up at a guess as they have many many settings,
multiple baud rate choices and parity options.

if its a metrologic scanner, the mot likeley options are 2400, odd paraty 8 data 1 stop bit

Hi sportzform, this is the same problem I am experiencing. Have you had any luck sorting it out?
