Hi there

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to have a SPS-2000 machine setup to allow members of a club to :

1 - Have a mag card assigned to them individually
2 - Apply a percentage discount against any sale made if the member has a mag card present at the time of sale through swiping the card through the reader.
or
3 - Allow members to charge / add money to their mag card for future use.
4 - Allow members with cards to use the mag card to pay for food / drinks etc.

Thanks in advance

I have to agree with Andy, we've supplied and supported ICRTouch for years. It has the most comprehensive and easy to use customer loyalty system in any epos software we've used and will do exactly what you're asking :)

Oh well - not what I was wanting to hear really as the machine is only 6 months old. :(

Guess will need to look into the loyalty card and sps-2000 more as it does mention it is capable of it in literature on the machine!!! but as usual nothing in the operating or programming manuals about it.

Will prob need to go back to supplier to see about them configuring it.... !what

Better get the cheque book out!!!

As I understand it with the SPS2000 the mag card reader can only be used for signing on clerks and time and attendance. If you would like to use customer loyalty then you would need to purchase a smart card reader which connects to the terminal, you would then need to purchase smart cards for your customers rather that mag cards.

The down side to this is smart cards can cost upto 4 times the amount of mag cards.

Smart cards are used as they store the customer information on the card rather than on the terminal, ROM based machines like the SPS2000 have limited memory compared to PC based systems hence they don’t have the storage space for the customer information.

As I said earlier if you have no luck with your supplier or the cost is prohibitive then it is worth looking at PC based systems, as Gemmie and Andy have said ICRTouch will do exactly what you would like to do with inexpensive mag cards.

It would be worth talking to your supplier but as I understand it that is how that machine handles customers. :(
