Hi,
I hope some helpful soul could help me with the basic programming of our new till...a SAM4S ER-420M (which I was told was the replacement model of our old ER-4615 in our other shop)
I have managed to program the shop name, address, tel and VAT no at the top of the customer receipt. I've also managed to change the date and time but thats about it 
We don't use a stock control system or a scanner or anything else too complicated, although I may ask later how a scanner works. All I would like for now is to be able to accept cash, cheque and credit/debit card, program the 12 buttons with for example: bakeware, pots n pans, barware, knives, electricals etc (we are a cookshop) and be able to offer a discount percentage on the total or subtotal.
I have looked through the book so many times and have tried to understand but I'm just not getting it....like how do you use the N1 etc? where these no N1 key.
I can see that you can offer discount on each item but not off the total.
When I press charge like our ER-4615 I get an error beep, so we are using cheque as card sales which isn't ideal.
I haven't looked at programming the depts yet as the above 2 have already wasted hours of my time and energy.
Please help

the book, i though, has to be one of the easier samsung manuals to follow.
to add names to the 12 plu's, turn the key to p enter 300 into the subtotal button, press one of the 12 buttons you wish to give a name to and type the name in the same way that you created the shop name.

Thanks for your offer of helping via PM. Once I try and program the depts when I'm next there I'll PM you for help on the percentage and charge as those two I have tried to program with no joy.
Have managed to program the depts which was as easy as you explained and I've now managed to program the charge key but I can't seem to be able to make the percentage key work on subtotals, only each item. Could anybody run me through programming the percent key please?
