ER-5140 - Running reports, exporting data?

Hello..
I work in a small cooperative store, with no paid staff.
As such, we have our machine set up to do Z reports 2 days/week.
Z tapes are entered into a spreadsheet, but it takes a while, so we'd like to avoid doing Z's every day.
But sometimes tapes get lost, or reports are skipped, and because of the cumulative nature of X tapes, it can make calculating daily PLU sales problematic.

So.. a more streamlined daily report would be great.

1) I'm guessing that we are running Z1s for our full reports, and they reset the counts. Could we run Z2 "All PLU", and Z2 "All Clerk" reports to get a daily snapshot without creating more work for the people entering our "traditional" Z tapes?

2) Could we dump some of this data via RS-232? The manual mentions "PC" about 7 times, 5 on the same fairly useless page, 1 in the TOC, and 1 in the index.
