Hi, I would be very grateful for help with a problem I have.
Apologies for my earlier brusque entry - this was due to stress - I assume this is why I have had no replies !
A friend of mine runs a business and uses an ER-5100 register.
At the moment there are 6 staff using the machine, but only 4 available staff/clerk ? keys.
Is it possible to have more than 4 staff, and also are you able to assign names to the keys.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in responding, it wasn't anything to do with your original message (I can't even remember what you said )it was purely that I didn't know the answer, I would have eventually got a answer for you but a little politeness does help in making me want to go out of my way to help you. :D

Looking through the manual I can't seemed to find any way of adding any more that 4 clerks to the actual keyboard, but you can have upto 15 Clerk Numbers assigned to this cash register. This would mean that instead of simply pressing 1 of the 4 keys to logon, every one has a number and to logon you press for example 5 then Clerk I.D, or 8 then Clerk I.D.

These should already be setup as standard as long as you have a 'Clerk' key so it would be worth trying one and seeing if it works, if it does then this should be the procedure to change the name:

Turn the key to P
Key in 810
Press SUBTOTAL
Enter the Clerk number that you want to change the name of (1 to 15)
Press X/TIME
Key in the new name of this Clerk using the alphanumeric keypad
Press SUBTOTAL
Press CASH to Finish
Turn to R and give it a test

Let me know what you think and how you get on, I will ask around for you but I'm sure from what I've read that 4 is the maximum on keyboard Clerks.

Cheers

Thank you very much indeed for that.
We'll give it a try and I'll let you know how we get on.
