XN902 with standalone PDQ machine
Hi there, hope someone might be able to help with this.
I've been helping out a friend with a second hand XN902 till which they are using in a pub/restaurant environment. I have no previous experience with tills but consider myself pretty PC-literate and I managed to work out how to reprogram the till and clear off all of the previous owners' checks/tables etc. (although it would've been easier if I'd found icrtouch's clear all data/reset sort of option way before I did!
However, there are a couple of issues I just can't seem to fix.
They have a standalone PDQ machine for processing card transactions, provided by their business bank. This machine is not able to connect directly to icrtouch, and therefore at the moment the only option (I think) is to process the card payments and then cash off the transaction. Surely there must be some way of telling icrtouch that the card payment has been handled manually and then print off separate "CARD" and "CASH" amounts in the Z report?
I've tried the finalise keys "CARD" and "PDQ SALES" but both bring up errors as they are obviously trying to link to whichever of the four options are selected in EFT settings.
Is it just a situation of if you don't have a connected device, you just cash off and that's it?
If you allready have a key called PDQ sales or card use one of them.
In program 3 goto function keys then finalise keys
Find the key you are going to use in the list of keys, highlight then press enter.
Set the key type on the key to cash
Set the drawer in totaliser to credit in drawer
Set the drawer out totaliser to cash in drawer
Put the key on the keyboard
You will now get reporting for card transactions
Also if you are running the current version of ICRTouch on the terminal the it can also handle doing cashback for you
You can tell if you are by looking at the top center of the screen when the software first loads, it should say ICRTouch 2011
If your not you can see the things you are missing out on here ICRTouch Feature List
Brilliant, thanks! Feel like I looked everywhere except the most obvious place!
Cheeky extra question - can you edit the floorplan (i.e. download a bmp to the machine) without having the backend software? Is it just a matter of connecting the till directly to a network or a laptop and copying files?
Yes, the floorplan is a .bmp image the same size as you screen resolution in the case 1024x768
The image is stored in the ICRTouch folder on the terminal
Floorplan 1 file name floorpln.bmp
Floorplan 2 file name floorp2.bmp
Floorplan 3 file name floorp3.bmp
Etc Etc
You can have up to 9 floor plans.
If you are not familiar with networking to a WinCE machine you can simply use a flash drive to copy the file over.
Excellent, cheers. Will an external HD work? FAT/NTFS? Not being near the till atm, I assume they all have USB ports?
Thanks so much for this advice, sorted out the majority of it for him last week but these little issues have come up since he started using it and it's obviously driving him a little mad! The card thing especially, he's made up with it now
