TEC MA-215 "Issues"

Hey all,

I've been helping a friend setup a shop and she's got a TEC MA-215 as part of the fixtures and fittings which has seen better days.

It seems the receipt/journal feed motor mechanism squeaks very badly - but I think a little lubricant should remedy that.

The problem I'm posting about is the fact that, having read the manual and after spending years in the ePOS industry, I can't find a way to set the store name message stamp. The manual refers to the store name stamp, but no reference to how to set it, or if you need to fit a part. In fact, the manual is pretty poor imho :?

Does anyone out there have any ideas on how I do this?

Cheers in advance for any help,

TBO

Hi,
Wow, bit of a dinosaur there. They used the old LP-701 printer. This is just an old drum printer, so they did have a rubber stamp for the store name. You need to remove the rubber stamp assembly, take it to a stamp maker, and get them to cut you a stamp with the store name on it. Note: If the printer is worn, then it's propaply not worth spending the money on a new stamp, as it will probably die soon anyway. The squeaking can often be worn bearings. the motors usually fail at this age too, so make sure you are happy with the quality of printing etc before you spend money on it. I had a lot of trouble with these when they got old, so most people have binned them now. Also make sure the battery has been changed. they leak when old, and wreck the machine.

Hope this helps,
Mark
