I have a Omron rs2410 (I have the manual and the s-key) I can't ring any thing up. when i enter the amount and push the dept key it gives me an error. all Dept keys are allocated. I can program set prices for the dept keys but i can not ring anything up unless the price is programed into a plu. Please can anyone help me?
check the status programmed into the buttons
if they are set to be preset then obviously you can't ring in to them.
i seem to remember something about presetting a zero doesn't free up the button - try cancel then the department to remove the preset?

The manual says
3.1.1 Normal Department
(R) or (X) [unit price] DEPT
when I try to run a transaction this way.
all the register does is beep and then e on the display.
