Hi, I have the cash register from Omron model # RS 3010E at my store and it's frozen. I had a customer make a $0.30 purchase and when I pressed the subtotal button, the correct price with tax ($0.32) came up but it started to blink. the little arrow at the left above "clerk" was also blinking and it seems as though all functions have been frozen. If I were to incorrectly press another button, the machine would usually give off a loud beep, but in it's current state, the beep is very weak. I've tried shutting it off and on, unplugging and replugging the cord, etc, but all to no avail. The same "$0.30" and arrow appear blinking. HELP!!!

Does the printer run if you press JOURNAL FEED?
ummm... can't say for sure anymore since it is now dead. It won't turn on or anything. it beeped once more this morning and then blipped out. blank. is there a back up battery that i need to change?
oh it turns out that my dad tried to change the backup battery and it still was dead. The journal feed button wouldn't work either. everything was frozen.
Sounds like printer failure. Make sure you can turn the printer gears freely and make the head move from end to end.
There is a half clear procedure but you will need a key that will turn one click past P mode to a hidden mode. Try your keys and see if one of them will turn further than P mode.
DON'T TOUCH ANY BUTTONS IN THIS MODE. Just try the keys and turn back to REG when finished.
