Hi all,

we have two bleep ts700s in our cafe - when we change menus I usually alter one till and then do a software backup, and copy the new software onto the SD card of the other till (to save changing both tills in full). I've done this a number of times with no issues. It may not be related, but after adding the new backup to the SD card one till won't switch on (it is powered but unresponsive, no startup screen, BIOS messages of any kind). I've tried using the SD card from the still functioning till in the broken one, with the same results, so I'm suspecting a BIOS or motherboard issue, although caused by what, I don't know.

any suggestions whatsoever to get this broken till working again? repair from bleep is prohibitively expensive.

I agree Bleep are way over the top on prices. Do you have a Tec dealer close by. They would be able to fix the hardware ok. Sorry I can't suggest anymore without seeing the machine.

Trying to locate a TEC dealer now - thanks for the help. There wouldn't be much to see if you were to see the machine :)

power on -> case fan starts ok, green power light lit, no activity otherwis. There was some clicking from the motherboard speaker (I assume), but this has now stopped (it's not a broken HDD as the TS700 uses and SD card only).

We had the same problem with our ts700 after changing the battery and tried all sorts of things like swapping the motherboard, it beeps and sounded like it was coming on but no screen, anyway, it turned out to be the graphics cad had come loose, I we pushed it in properly and it worked fine it's on the left (i think)as you look at the motherboard, hope this works for you...
