Hi

We've just taken over a restaurant which has an XN900 till but unfortunately we have been left without a manual. The existing staff know how to use it with the functions currently set up but we would like to somehow put a discount button on the machine so that we can take a percentage (say 10%) off the final bill.

Does anyone know how to do this?

If not, does anyone know where I can get a manual for this machine? I've looked all over google but to no avail - nobody seems to have one!

the xn 900 is the hardware - what software are you running?
the most widely used with that machine is icr touch
icr bioots to 6 large squares - top right being program
adding a discount bvutton to the keyboard is done under prog4 the screen designer
but the parameters of the button - such as preset or open disc
value or percentage
on item or on sale
is done elsewhere - i dont know the software well enough to help without being in front of the machine but im guessing that its somewhere under prog2

You can program a discount key by going to program 3 then select options

Function keys, then
Transaction key

Once in the transaction key menu you can either use one of the preprogrammed discount keys or create a new one.

To do this arrorw down through the list of preset keys untill you come to a blank record then press enter
Give the discount key a name, this will appear on your end of day reports and customer bills.
You will find other setting on the key, like the discount rate, if the discount applies to all products or just selected products, if the discount key discounts at subtotal or just the last item
You would need the discount to apply at subtotal
One you have made all of the settings exit from programming then go to program 4, here you can use arrow keys to select the screen level you want the key on. Once you have selected a position on the keyboard, select keytype transaction key then arrow to the discount key you have just created.

To use, make the sale as normal, press subtotal then the discount key.
Your preset discount will then be applied.

You can contact ICRTouch who will be able to put you in touch with a dealer in your area who will be able to help you with any issues you have and may also be able to send you a operation manual. Contact details below.
