Hi
I will soon be opening a Tile & Stone showroom and need some help funding the right solution for the following requirements:
1. EPOS system that needs to have –
a. Separate:
i. 1 x Back office offline (on-site),
ii. 1 x Till point offline (on-site) connected to back office,
iii. 1 x Delivery/Goods-in offline (on-site) connected to back office,
If iii. Cannot be separate then 1 x more of ether i. or ii. but it would be best if c. can double up as a spare till point.
P.S I would not look at cloud systems as I still do not trust this yet.
b. Be scalable in line with our growth more showrooms, so would need HQ.
c. Template point of sale screen.
d. Sub-departments – due to our full range offered will be from 6 or 7 suppliers.
If there is a workaround for displaying on till point screen then that is OK.
e. Mix and match options:
i. Discount amount (amount to be reduced from total).
ii. Discount % (the percentage to be reduced from total).
iii. Set price (e.g. 3 for £5 also 3 mixed items for £5).
iv. Discount amount cheapest (discounts the cheapest item).
v. Discount % cheapest (discounts the cheapest item by %).
vi. Discount amount last item (discounts the last item).
vii. Discount % last item (discounts the last item by %).
f. Other normal promotions – X off and BOGOF etc.
g. Wastage.
h. Maintain Margins
i. Shelf Edge Labels
j. Accounts export to QuickBooks or data set export for import to QuickBooks (same as exported to saga line 50).
k. Send Message to Terminal screens from back office.
l. Custom extra field’s products, customer etc.
m. Happy Hours
n. Case size
o. Master and child products
p. Auto splitting and adjustment of stock
q. Account Customers with & without discount
r. Cash Customers
s. Layaways if possible including part payments (when customer has not got all the payment and need to pop to cashpoint)
t. Account Customers with x discount off
u. CSV Export
v. CSV Import
w. Live data link to e-commerce web site (with selected fields)
x. Ability to make modules/plug-ins are selves (in-house) after purchase
y. Work with click & collect on website – was thinking we could use the layaways
z. Basic loyalty system
aa. Print slip/ A5 receipt
I have looked at ICR Touch and it seems to best fit the above?
2. E-commerce website needs to handle –
a. #1.e. from above.
b. #1.f. from above.

d. #1.l. from above.

h. #1.p. from above.
i. #1.t. from above.
j. Live data link to EPOS back office
k. Click & collect
l. #1.z. from above.
m. And all the standard options seen in a e-shop program
3. Till point hardware –
a. Terminal – touch screen
b. Cash Drawer
c. Barcode Scanner
d. thermal receipt, cheque and slip all-in-one printer (refurbished is OK)
e. Preloaded with selected software
f. Manual
g. All Cables
h. Optional –

4. BackOffice hardware –

Or

5. Delivery/Goods-in / backup till point hardware –

d. Mouse
e. POS thermal receipt, cheque and slip all-in-one printer (refurbished is OK)
Or
f. All-in-one PC
g. Keyboard
h. Mouse
i. POS thermal receipt, cheque and slip all-in-one printer (refurbished is OK)
Refurbished is OK
6. 2 x printer for PC’s
7. Configuration, installation, training and at least 2 years Warranty
I have £1530.00 budget for the above.
Can anyone help with any of this is it possible to archive given my budget?
My area is DN20 but I do not mid where you are.

Simon, you don't need a till system, you need a fairy godmother!!! lol

That list is unrealistic, specially with that budget [an epos terminal and back office pc hardware wil wipe that out in an instant!]
most of what you ask for is covered by various packages iv'e seen over the years - but none covering all in a single package. In terms of "do it yourself modules" - you can pay a couple of suppliers i know to write some bespoke modules for you - but I very much doubt you will find anyone willing to allow you access to the code to write your own - it would risk the security of the software and perhaps de-stabilise it too!
ICR Touch is, as you say the one i would go for as there are options for bespoke modules.
But if budget is that low, try samstock - it does a lot of what you want.
What you also have to consider is the labour involved in maintaining such a system if it exists
- you will need to employ someone full time just to input and control stock!
although it is possible to integrate the back office into the till terminal, when do you hope to be able to find the time to maintain the back office if the till is constantly in use by the till operator?
Have you considered writing a package from scratch? after all if you can write add ons then you can write the whole thing right?
if you do, then PM me as id be interested in supplying a package like that [as long as the price was less than £600]
good luck with your search

Odd you should say this as I have look at doing this but without help from a dealer that could guide or help as I am only coming from a enduser.
So if you or anyone else would help then this could happen.
