Help selecting new till

We currently have a Casio 140CR and are looking for something a little more advanced, but can't afford to spend a fortune on it.

We run a twice yearly music festival, and only use the till for 2 weekends a year. At the moment we use the 140CR with around 15 PLU's and also issue the odd refund.

We find the X and Z readings of the 140CR a bit unwieldy and difficult to understand so would like something that can download the transactions to a PC at the end of the day for analysis. We would like some sort of description of the PLUs in the report rather than just numbers and as we are selling tickets we need to keep a close eye on numbers throughout the day so we don't oversell, so an instant readout of sales figures would be good.

So can anyone suggest a budget till that will perform these functions for us? We may even consider a 2nd hand model to keep the cost down, but need to know what to look out for, and probably more importantly what to avoid!

Thanks in advance

You might find it better to consider renting a more powerful EPoS machine for the few days you need it. We have several customers who do that so they have no capital outlay and still get the equipment they need.
