Hi all,

I'm looking for a basic till, with 6+ departments, and a serial/usb connection I can pull X/Z reports off to a PC, instead of printing or going via an SD card. At a push, a till supporting external secondary seconnection to an external serial printers would do, as I could set the PC up to pretend to be a printer, and capture individual transactions, but I'd prefer to request X/Z reports via a PC.

I want to import directly into a database, and can write my own software to do this if I can get the serial protocol, but so far this information seems to be difficult to locate.

This is for a Not-For-Profit Social Enterprise, so budget is low, and extra features aren't really of any interest.

Can anyone recommend a low-end till I should look at?

Currently using a Sharp ER-A610, which looks like it would do the job, but the serial module er-a5rs is discontinued.

Thanks,

Phil

Ahhh this is what I need too! I've had companies try to pitch me a pos system that is all PC based but I don't want expensive computers getting beaten up by volunteers.

I'd love a system where the tills are cheap, yet the data flows to a PC where the big wigs can obsess over the reports and all that nonsense.

SD cards are okay, but a networked till would be even more handy/reliable I think? Perhaps a choice of both options?

Amazing that I found this right off the bat. I think I love this forum. ;)

Thanks in advance for any replies with more info.

All the Geller tills have PC comms and the utility is easy to use, has csv export real simple stuff even the cheapest one is only around £200!
