We have a Towa AX-100 and have been trying to program the departments 9 to 16, but to no avail. The manual says to use "shift" but every time we do we get an "error" message on the display. Please, if anyone knows how to enter for programing these departments, do tell.
The button Dept Shift allows you to enable dept's 1 to 8 to operate as dept's 9-16 for one operation. A main flag can be set to allow them to remain shifted until you press shift a second time.
I know that you can have at least two extra departments on the keyboard (dept 9 and 10) above the existing eight departments. Not sure if any dept higher than this can be placed on keyboard.
The codes for these two are 89 and 8A (Codes for 11 is 8B etc etc).
I've never tried to program one of these manually but all departments should work either way unless you have moved the shift key.
We have no trouble in getting into groups 9 - 16 when using the register by using "shift". The difficulty is being able to program these groups with the names of the departments that we want these groups to register. The manuals that we have (English and Swedish) both seem to have emitted that vital fact. One to eight, piece of cake, nine to sixteen, an instruction is missing.

Tried to on dept. 9: into "P" mode, entered "9", pressed Dept.1, "0" shows on the display, entered the codes for the text we wanted, pressed "Cash" and back to user mode. Tried it using "shift" and Dept. 1 but to no avail, we still only get "VGR09" (Swedish for "Dept. 09"), frustrating to say the least.
