Welcome to EpoS Wizard!
What till to get?
Am running a small bar and the current till only tells me how much has been taken - I can't tell if (e.g.) £3.50 was for a bottle of Groundhog or a bottle of Roadrunner beer.
I want to look for a till that will show what has been sold, will include that in the reports (e.g. 30 bottles of Groundhog, 2 bottles of Roadrunner), simply by either pressing key labelled 'Groundhog' and 'Roadrunner' or (possibly) by scanning the bar codes on the bottles.
We don't print receipts, and being able to take the reports etc. away on an SD card would be a big plus.
We sell about 10 different types of beer, 10 of spirits (that could go up as we get more single malts), maybe 10 of wine (by glass, by bottle), similar of mixers / soft drinks and similar of snacks. That makes at least 50 individual items, and if they are on a keypad we would need more keys than 50 so they can be arranged sensibly.
And I want all this for under £400 with VAT!
Suggestions?
At that budget, I strongly suggest a pc system. Check out Neopos from Australia - about the best software available at really low cost on line - do not go Quickbooks POS - it is a piece of crap. If you have a bigger operation, and reliability (ie no blue screen) a must, pay more and use Casio QT. If you want a low end till - go casio TE-3000s but it is a nightmare to program unless you have a back office software - the best available is Astute, which is really good for bigger operations but will work on TE3000s, TE7000s, and QTs. SAMM have cheaper systems and reportedly good back office software, but I never liked them because their printer head give up - unless you have a supplier that can replace them cheaply. Hope this helps you. But at the budget you have, you should really check out Neopos. Their support is personal and really quick. Same with Astute, even though they are half the world away, they will stay up to help you. Good luck
I forgot to tell you. Astute has a brit running a bar in THailand, where the prices and sales are controlled remotely from England. Go ask Astute, may be they can recommend a low end till that meets your budget. But the software is around US800, so it will still blow your budget.
Neopos have the same capability, where you can monitor transaction on line in real time. I would still suggest Neopos because of your budget. Unless you cannot have people standing in line in event windows goes blue on you. I dont use windows pos because of that.
