Hi.
This is more handful then I thought it'd be 
First problem is I can't seem to find any details on how to install the scanner.
When I scan an item it doesn't read anything. I'm using Metrologic 9520 on com2 port.
Maybe I have to do something before plugging it in?
And when connecting to pc, when I'm done programming and try to restart the register
it'd lock up. and I'll have to reset it by pressing the little button next to the port which
then resets the whole program.
It's stuck at " IPL 0000 " and when I unplug and plug it back in, nothing. It's locked up.
I got both user manual and dealer manual, which has no information about finalizing after
programming. Maybe I have missed it? English isn't my first language so that might be a problem

If you plug in a scanner without setting the I/O parameters first then the Cash register gets confused and locks up.

Thank you, but I got rid of the scanner out of frustration. 
I kinda gave up and had some time off from it, left it alone til now.
Now that scanner is out of the way, I just wanna simply have just a 2 departments used for Tax and non-tax item.
that I could just manually do, because the register won't connect to the pc however I do it.
I get connection failure error 198.
I wanna make 1 Department for +tax-10% discount. is this possible at all?
All last month I was regretting that I should've just paid to have it programmed before it got shipped.

Have you gotten this taken care of yet. I will post instructions if you still need it.
