cv 22 password question

Hi

I have been asked to help with the programming of a Casio TE4500 till. I'm not certain whether the cv 22 application needs to be installed or if simply copying the relevant directories is sufficient, I mean I'm not sure how the app was loaded onto the pc. I've copied it across to my own laptop and the behaviour is the same. In both cases the MDB database file is obviously being checked because the program complains if I remove/rename it.
The issue is that the app. starts up on the pc I've been given to use and on 'file -> setup -> lock/unlock customer screen' asks for a password. The one I've been given seems to do nothing, returning me to the greyed out 'Casio database system' gui with only 'EXIT' active.
A temporary manager had access to the utility. I am assuming that they have changed the password. So the question is - can the password be defaulted or changed, not knowing what the actual password is?
I appreciate that this might sound like dodgy employee trying some sharp practice. It isn't. I'm sure sufficient proof can be supplied to prove my validity if required.

Thanks in advance for any pointers or a straight forward answer e.g. 'Not possible!'

You need to have cv22 installed on the root (C).
And, when you start the exe-file, choose File - Unlock and type todays date in american format. Today you have to type 20120207.
