casio se-s2000 connection to pc problem

Hello i just bought a casio se-s2000 with the cv 10 software and a pc connection cable but i don't seem to be able to send or receive any data.
The connection screen flashes up and shows 0 bytes transfers and then closes again.
What am i doing wrong? i've tried searching for connection problems but all i see are the questions but no answers.
Could someone help please as i'm trying to place my shop logo onto the receipt.
